The John Maclean Foundation is proud to have the support of Optimal Humans who are raising funds for the John Maclean Foundation at the inaugural Deep Valley Race, to be held in Sydney’s North on September 21.
The Deep Valley Race is Sydney’s newest fitness event.
This event is short, fast, and steep, with a little twist. The running component is 6.4km on an out and back course. The twist; a heavy carry over 200-300m to opt-in and opt-out of the race.
After completing the heavy carry, participants will embark on a steep, rocky, and potentially slippery and muddy descent over 300m, leading onto an 800m descent along sandstone fire trail. From there, participants face a gruelling multi-gradient 2.2km climb to the halfway mark. Then the course reverses for the return.
The team at Optimal Humans believe that everyone should challenge themselves, no matter their starting point. So many of the limitations that we feel we have are in-fact only in our minds.
The goal of Optimal Humans Deep Valley is to build community and raise funds for an important cause. Both athletes and weekend warriors alike will test themselves, improve their resilience under adversity, and take nothing for granted. Truly the only limitations we have are the ones we place upon ourselves.
50% of profits from the Deep Valley Race will be donated to the John Maclean Foundation.
Deep Valley Race includes prize money for the Top 3 male and female finishers. Registration for Elite participants costs $90, while Weekend Warrior Tickets are $55.
